Saya diamanahkan untuk membentangkan ucapan bagi ICAPP Youth Wing mewakili Pergerakan Pemuda UMNO Malaysia .
Kali ini kehadiran lebih 123 orang Wakil Parti2 Politik Seluruh Asia Baik Mewakili Kerajaan Mahupun Pembangkang.Sidang kali ini dihadiri oleh lebih 53 Negara2 Asia.

Youth Politician : Role In Building An Asian Comunity
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Brother's and Sister's.
First and foremost, please allow me to express my appreciation for being invited to attend this International Conference of Asian Political Parties once again.
I am indeed happy to see that the ICAPP reaffirms its role as a forum for open and honest dialogues between political parties of various ideologies and given an opportunity for the future leaders of each respected countries to participated and giving fresh ideas from the eye of Youth Politician.
It is only in this way that we will be able to ensure many more years of peace and prosperity in which to build a strong and harmonious society, a time for our nations and cultures to grow and flourish.
1) Dynamics Politics For Youth Asian Politician.
They can be a creative force, a dynamic ,source of innovations, and they have undoubtedly, throughout history, participated, contributed, and even catalyzed important changes in political systems, power-sharing dynamics and economic opportunities.
However, youths also face poverty, barriers to education, multiple forms of discrimination and limited employment prospects and opportunities Young men and women are traditionally active politically in universities (when allowed) but very often disillusioned with political leadership and political institutions and excluded from policy development.
As a result, political activism of youth is not organized according to formal groupings. Opportunities for youth to engage in governance and participate in political and decision-making processes depend largely on the political, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts where social norms in many parts of the world result in multiple forms of discrimination .
People under the age of 35 are rarely found in formal political leadership positions. In a third of countries, eligibility for the national parliament starts at 25 years or higher and it is common practice to refer to politicians as ‘young’ if they are below 35-40 years of age.
Youth is not represented adequately in formal political institutions and processes such as Parliaments, political parties, elections, and public administrations.
The situation is even more difficult for both young women as well as women at mid-level and decision-making/leadership positions.
In order to respond to the needs of young people, and to guarantee that their basic human rights are recognized and enforced, young people’s active and meaningful participation in their societies and in democratic practices and processes is of crucial importance.
Meaningful youth participation and leadership require that young people and young people-led organizations have opportunities, capacities, and benefit from an enabling environment and relevant evidence-based programmed and policies at all levels.
Realizing young people’s right to participate and be included in democratic processes and practices is also vital to ensure the achievement of internationally agreed development goals and to refresh the development agenda.
2) Youth empowerment and democratic governance
- Training to increase youth political participation with senior politicial ( Transformation )
- Supporting Dialogue between youth leaders in Asian Comunity.
- Strengthening public policy making skills with fresh ideas from the youth politician.
- Youth Empowerment Through Civic Education.
- Youth Participation in Decision Making and Policy Implementation.
- 30% qouta of Youth Politician as Members of Parliament .
This indirectly also promotes ICAPP’s objectives of reinforcing democracy in the Asian region and subsequently raising the standard of living through the cooperation and efforts amongst all the political parties.
In my beloved country Malaysia, about 60% of the population are Muslims, 20% Buddhist, 10% Christians and 7% Hindus. Being such a multi-racial country, we set very high rate of religious tolerance to ensure peace and stability in the country.
Only through political engagement, dissent may be channeled towards building something worthwhile rather than being turned into a tool of destruction.
For the most part, promoting youth participation needs to be geared towards achieving levels relative to those of the rest of the population.
3) Effective and meaningful youth political participation has one of three attributes:
- It can be consultative, it can entail youth-led participation.
- Young people have a direct impact on decision-making within their own youth communities.
- Involve youth collaborative participation, where young people effectively take part in regular political decision-making processes.
4) Role Of Youth Politician
If Asia is to become developed by 2020 as what my country is targeting, it will do so only by riding on the shoulders of the youth.
The youth politician is the future of Asia. Contrary to usual political views, there are some conscious souls in the country who wish to make a difference.
But is this always-desired difference a DYANMICS POLITICS. It is quite a difficult process, but not entirely out of the question. There is an urgent need of a change in the governance and administration of our country.
I think young political leaders are the ones who can bring about a change. I have high hopes pinned on them because they can lend a hand for a positive change in the current political system.
I feel they are no way a means to lure young voters. Nevertheless, it is better to place young political leaders in the domain of optimism, than decorate them with the thorns of negativity and criticism.
Asian countries certainly requires young blood to generate a productive change to modify the system into a people-friendly one.
I believe the common, middle-class man can relate better with the young leader than the elderly politician whose days can end anytime!
In this process, young politicians must be humble, kind and helpful to the masses. And if humility is not the virtue of the young leader, then I feel the future of Asia is definitely bleak.
Basically, there exist two types of young people. In all parts of the world, we find youngsters with a keen interest in political affairs, and another group with practically no political interest at all.
From a democratic vantage point, it is unfortunate that the latter tends to be in the majority in most societies. While political apathy among the young generation is a global phenomenon, differences regarding the degree and the quality of political youth activism exist in various parts of the world especially Asia.
The desire for change is the driving forces of all political and social transitions. Everywhere in the world, young people have stood and continue to stand at the forefront of the struggle for democracy and moving towards DYANAMICS POLITICS .
Those who look forward usually want change, with the major part of their lives lying ahead of them, young people naturally aspire for changes that may lead to a better future for them and their families. Still, in most nations only a minority of young people perceive political parties as a suitable vehicle to promote these aspirations.
To make political parties more attractive for the young generation, therefore, remains one of the main challenges of the political establishment in Asia and beyond.
This is the responsibility of the ASIAN YOUTH POLITICIAN ROLE IN BUILDING AN ASIAN COMUNITTY, BY ADAPTING DYANAMICS POLITICS.
5) Conclusion
By the end of this conference, I sincerely hope that we will be able to identify and recognize elements that can promote better stability in this region so that we can work towards achieving peace and better political and economic stability in the region especially from the youth wings of ICCAP.
In parting, please allow me to convey my upmost heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the organizing committee for inviting me and also once again the honor of having the opportunity to present a paper in this International Conference of Asian Political Parties conference in Colombo Sri Lanka.
